During their time there, the Chairwoman of the Fair Committee, Julia Palmer, is found dead in her office tent, apparently from a heart attack. With the Fair closed off and several people detained on the grounds, Veronica and Sakura are asked to discreetly look for clues to assist with the investigation. Did Julia actually die from a heart attack, or is there something more sinister at work here?
Turns out Julia was not the most popular person around and was known to take advantage of her position as Chairwoman to manipulate others. It also seems she was involved in some underground gambling rings. Things become even more complicated when another body is found, but this time, it’s obviously murder!
With two mysteries to solve, Veronica and Sakura have to use their reasoning and personal skills to find out who is responsible for these deaths. Is there more than one person involved? Why were they killed? And ultimately, will the killer or killers will strike again?
