Rowan’s lighthouse renovation project was supposed to be straightforward. Reinforce the support studs in the living areas, update the plumbing, and transform Mystic Haven’s historic beacon into a charming bed and breakfast. What he didn’t plan for was the current lighthouse keeper, a crusty old mage who treats every suggested improvement like a personal attack on his ancestral dignity.
When the keeper is found dead at the bottom of the lighthouse stairs, surrounded by construction debris and a very suspicious-looking magical tool kit, the town sheriff decides Rowan makes a perfect suspect. The fact that those “tools” include enchanted measuring tapes and self-leveling hammers suddenly makes a lot more sense. So does Rowan’s uncanny ability to fix things that shouldn’t be fixable.
Fiona refuses to let her favorite handyman get railroaded by lazy police work, even if he did forget to mention he’s a mage. With Theo providing moral support and pointed observations about magical crime scenes, she launches her own investigation. But the lighthouse holds decades of magical secrets, and someone is willing to kill to keep them buried.
