There was something of a buzz amongst the Isle of Man’s amateur dramatic circles.
After all, it’s not every day that the historic Gaiety Theatre plays host to a former Hollywood star such as Willard Fairfax.
Unfortunately, Mr Fairfax’s fame is matched only by his ego.
As rehearsals get underway, his abrasive manner succeeds in rubbing cast members, theatre staff, and just about everyone else up the wrong way. Before long, the production is brought to an abrupt and unexpected halt when an unthinkable incident sends shockwaves throughout the island and further afield.
As speculation mounts and rumours continue to swirl, private investigators Quinn Flitcroft and Toby Haddock are asked to take a closer look at events behind the scenes. To uncover the truth, they must discover who has been following the script and who has been writing their own.
The final curtain may have fallen, but unless Quinn and Toby uncover the truth, the Gaiety Theatre could be about to receive an unwelcome encore in A Case of Stage Fright.
