Bad Seed
By Karen MacInerney
Old secrets yield a deadly harvest…
When a fire guts Buttercup’s historic Old Masonic Lodge, Lucy Resnick’s quiet November goes up in smoke—especially when the teenage son of one of her dearest friends becomes the prime suspect.
But searching the wreckage turns up a grisly surprise: a skull hidden beneath the hundred-year-old building. And old bones aren’t the only thing lurking underground. Following the trail, Lucy uncovers a decades-old mystery, a family determined to keep its secrets buried, and proof that some bad seeds take generations to bloom.
With a frightened boy’s future on the line and Thanksgiving bearing down fast, Lucy has far more on her plate than turkey and pie—and someone in Buttercup would rather see her buried than let the truth make it to the table.
