By Kate P. Adams

God won’t accept your thanks for murther… Joyce and Ginger, two unlikely friends, trade one beauty spot for another when they leave the rolling hills of their Derbyshire home for the beautiful city of Edinburgh. But after an eventful journey filled with mishap and mayhem on the sleeper train, a chance conversation with a handsome laird leads them deep into the Highlands. There, an annual Highland games awaits in the grounds of a romantic castle. But the castle is actually more deadly than fairy-tale. As Ginger laces her trusty hiking boots to explore the brooding mountains, and Joyce slips her elegant feet into her favourite high heels to bag herself a husband who’s as rich as he is handsome and kilted, the discovery of a dead body sends their best-laid schemes awry. To a backdrop of caber tossing and the evocative sound of bagpipes, they find themselves entering the mysterious world behind the games on the trail of a merciless killer. Will Joyce find romance in the ancient Celtic lands? Will Ginger learn to love the refined taste of a perfectly aged whisky? And will our formidable sleuthing partners solve the crime before the killer can strike again? Jump aboard the Highland Sleeper, we’re heading north for ceilidhs, dancing and swirling tartan aplenty. Not to mention family feuds, grievances and, of course, the odd ghost or two.
