As she investigates the case, Gracie also worries that her assistant manager Beck may be leaving The Laughing Loaf. Beck was her first employee and a huge part of the bakery’s success – from her wildly popular menu items to her cheery, welcoming demeanor with customers. Gracie realizes that Beck has been the bakery’s (and her own) “ride or die.” She prepares herself for the possibility of a big change—one she hopes her popular bakery can survive.
