Swimmingly Dead (Ella McBane Mysteries)
By Michele Scott
For caterer-turned-sleuth a gig at an open house in Pacific Heights quickly leads to murder!
When Ella McBane traded her chef’s apron for a chance to follow her instincts as an amateur detective, she never expected her latest case to cut so close to home. The shocking death of a close friend is ruled an overdose—but Ella knows better. Something about the scene doesn’t add up, and her gut tells her it’s murder.
Determined to uncover the truth, Ella leans on her fiercely loyal circle of friends, each bringing unique strengths to the investigation. Together they unravel a trail of hidden schemes, dangerous players, and secrets powerful people will do anything to protect.
Yet danger isn’t the only complication. A promising new romance tempts Ella with the possibility of lasting love, even as unexpected emails from Paris stir unresolved feelings for the man she once let go. Heart and duty collide, pulling her in two directions just as the investigation grows perilous.
To save her community—and herself—Ella must risk everything to expose the truth before it claims another victim.
