The Clue at the Cherub Statue (The Dead Days of Summer Series Book 3)
By Constance Barker
A celebrated movie star returns home. By morning, she’s dead beneath the statue she came to honor.
Community Revitalization Coordinator Antonia Monroe expects the reopening of Cotton Holler’s garden to bring visitors and some much-needed good publicity. The appearance of former Hollywood star Sybil DeMilo should make the event unforgettable—but not for the reason Antonia intended.
During her morning jog, Antonia finds Sybil’s body hidden behind the garden’s cherub statue. The actress had been confused and frightened before her death, and nearly everyone around her appears to be hiding something. Her estranged son resented her. Her private physician concealed an unusual treatment. Her former husband lied about their recent contact. And a determined gossip columnist claims she’s close to exposing Sybil’s darkest secret.
The investigation leads Antonia and Undersheriff Seb Connery back to Cherub’s Kiss, the movie that launched Sybil’s career. Its director died under suspicious circumstances, and a valuable jeweled prop disappeared soon afterward.
Now an old Hollywood secret may hold the answer to a present-day murder. To uncover the truth, Antonia must discover what Sybil came home to find—and what has been hidden inside Cotton Holler for decades.
