Treble At The Renaissance Faire: A Madrigal Singer Cozy Mystery
By Nicki Dohrn
The annual Renaissance Faire is Willow Maeve Jensen’s favorite escape, a world of madrigals and merriment, until a discordant note shatters the harmony. Whispers of a heated quarrel among her fellow Canterbury Choristers, all centered on a priceless antique lute, quickly sour the festive atmosphere. Even Sir Barksalot, her astute Cairn Terrier, senses the rising tension.
When a prominent chorister is found deceased, and the lute vanishes, the Faire’s magic dissolves into a mystery. The local sheriff is baffled, but Willow’s keen historian’s eye and Sir Barksalot’s uncanny ability to ‘read’ people spot inconsistencies the authorities miss. With her trusty canine companion by her side, Willow dives into a world of period costumes and concealed secrets.
Navigating jousting knights, gossiping vendors, and a labyrinth of hidden talents, Willow unearths a tangled web of rivalries and long-held resentments within her seemingly harmonious group. She must use her wit, her historical knowledge, and Sir Barksalot’s unique insights to expose the truth.
Can Willow unmask the culprit and restore peace to her beloved Renaissance Faire before the final curtain falls on more than just the performance?
